Why do we have the 20/20 Membership Referral Program?
Our 20/20 Membership Referral Program encourages you to be an advocate for healthier living, personally and in our community. We invite you to create an encouraging support system to give you both enhanced motivation to meet your goals and strengthen our community.
Who is eligible to join the program?
All members of the Racine Family YMCA who have been in good standing for at least 60 days are eligible to participate. Eligible membership types include Adult, Adult Household, Senior, Senior Household, 1, 2, or 3 Adult Household with Children on a monthly auto-draft.
Can a current member cancel and rejoin with another current member?
No, this program is for new referrals or past members whose accounts have been inactive for 90 days.
What if I have an annual membership?
To receive the 20% monthly discount, simply convert from your annual to a monthly membership via bank draft or credit card draft.
What about new members? Can they also take advantage of this program?
Members must be active and in good standing for at least 60 days to be eligible to refer a friend and receive the 20% monthly discount.
If I no longer qualify for MFA and I have a friend who is a current member can they recruit me as their referral friend?
Current members cannot recruit other current members into the program. You must refer someone who is not currently a member to be eligible for the 20% monthly discount.
When will my 20% monthly discount go into effect?
The referring member’s 20% monthly discount will take effect on the next month’s drafting cycle after the referral joins and completes all membership requirements. The new member will receive the 20% monthly discount with their first month’s draft.
Do the referral and member have to be part of the Racine Family YMCA?
Yes. Your friends can join at either Racine Family YMCA branch.
If I invite multiple friends, do I receive an additional rate reduction for each friend that joins?
No. Members will receive one 20% discount toward their monthly dues per referred membership, regardless of how many of your referrals join. You can refer up to five people who will be eligible for the 20% monthly discount. Having multiple referrals helps to ensure that you keep your 20% monthly discount in the event one of your referrals cancels early.
Since my discount is linked to the program, am I financially obligated if my referral(s) don’t pay?
No. You are not financially accountable for referral payments. However, if your referral’s membership does not remain in good standing, you will lose your 20% monthly discount if you are unable to recruit a new referral within 30 days.
Can all of my family refer friends?
Yes. Everyone is encouraged to refer friends to the Y. The 20/20 Referral program allows one price reduction for each membership.
Can I still get the 20% monthly discount if I am part of MFA or a corporate partnership?
No. Each membership is eligible for only one price reduction.
If I currently have a membership that offers more of a discount to me than the 20/20 Referral Program, can I still invite a friend to receive the 20% monthly discount?
Yes. You can keep your current membership discount and your friend will receive the 20% monthly discount.
Can members with insurance-based memberships refer friends and family to be a part of the program?
Only memberships paid for by a monthly bank or credit card draft are eligible for the 20/20 Referral Program. If an individual with an insurance-based membership refers a family member or friend who pays by a monthly bank or credit card draft, the new member will receive the 20% monthly discount. However, the referring insurance-based membership member will not receive the 20% monthly discount.
What happens if my friend cancels their membership?
You will have 30 days to recruit a new friend to remain in the program and maintain your 20% monthly discount. If you are not able to confirm a new referral within 30 days your rate will revert back to your original monthly rate.
What if a member on the program goes on hold?
The promotion is for active members only.
I am joining the Y as a new member in the program. Do I have to pay a joining fee?
Yes, new members joining through the program are subject to the standard joining fee.
