Financial Assistance
The Y is a non-profit community service organization focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. One of the things we promise is that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay will have the opportunity to participate in Y programs. Last year’s annual support campaign allowed us to provide membership and program scholarships to nearly 10,000 local youth and families. This year, we hope to make a difference in the lives of even more people.
Financial assistance keeps the Y available for kids and families who need us most and is offered to individuals and families who cannot afford memberships or programs. We raise funds through our Annual Campaign to ensure the Y is accessible to all people. This year 1 in 4 people who walk through our doors will receive financial assistance for part of their membership and/or program cost. We count on the generosity of our members and community to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected and secure.
The RACINE FAMILY YMCA offers affordable, quality activities and services designed to benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds. Through generous contributions to our Strong Kids/Strong Communities Campaign, no one is turned away from the Y due to the inability to pay.
The Y wants everyone to have the opportunity to take part in its programs and enjoy its facilities and services. Financial assistance is awarded based on need through a sliding fee scale. To receive financial assistance (based on available funding) for full general membership and/or programs, applicants must bring one of the following to the Welcome Center:
- W2 monthly Program Review letter
- SSI/SSDI/DVR letter
- WI Works Letter
- Child Support Letter
- Unemployment insurance check stub
If applicant doesn't have any of the above, they must visit the Welcome Center to pick up a regular scholarship application or click the link below to print out at home.
