In Memoriam: David M. Perkins 1949-2024
With sadness, we share the loss of David M. Perkins, former Board President of the Racine Family YMCA, longtime member and valued friend.
David graduated from Washington Park High School in 1967, and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2010. He graduated from DePauw University in 1971 with a degree in Economics and earned an M.B.A. from Marquette University in 1974, where he was a Paul P. Harris Fellow. Returning to Racine, David was the Chief Financial Officer for ACME Die Cast Corporation until joining Racine Federated Inc., as a Director in 1986, becoming Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 1990. On July 1, 2008, he was appointed President, later joining Badger Meter when the companies merged. David was also a well-known philanthropist and volunteer, most notably serving as Chairman of Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce, Chair of the All Saints Health Care/Wheaton Franciscan system, President of the Racine Community Foundation, and Campaign Chair of the United Way of Racine County. David is survived by his wife, two children and grandchildren.
David's kindness, wisdom, and generous commitment to others will always be remembered.
